About INDYCOG

INDYCOG began as a blog in February 2009 with the goal of celebrating and promoting cycling in Indianapolis and providing a common ground for all types of cyclists to gather. In February of 2010, we began to position ourselves as Indy's only bicycle education and advocacy group. In November of that year, we acquired our 501c3 non-profit status.

We believe that the stronger our community, the more apparent our message and our needs as cyclists become, the more likely our needs will be met by our city.

As well as organizing community building and fundraising events like "2 Wheels, 1 City" and "Pedal Indy", we also advocate for cyclists by serving on the MPO's Multi-Modal Task Force, DPW's Bicycle Advisory Council, Health by Design's Policy & Education Committees and various other policy-oriented committees and organizations. Furthermore, we attempt to educate the cycling and non-cycling public by having informational tables at events around the city of Indianapolis.

INDYCOG is a membership-based organization and our mission is as follows:

INDYCOG's mission is to promote bicycling as a safe and viable means of transportation and recreation in Indianapolis.
