Bike Bucket Program Manager Job Description

Time Commitment: 1-2 hours per week (more time could be invested if you were interested in growing the program)

  • Work from home
  • Workshops in various locations
  • Delivery to retail locations (Currently only 3 locations)

Job Description: The Bike Bucket Program Manager position is a volunteer position but could be converted into an internship and the hours catered to your programs needs. The responsibilities are as follows:

  • Ensure a stock of donated kitty litter buckets
  • Maintain a stock of completed Bike Buckets
  • Fill orders for Bike Buckets purchased online and arrange for their pickup or delivery
  • Keep retail outlets stocked
  • Organize build "parties" to replenish stock of completed Bike Buckets
  • Organize quarterly build workshops at local bike shops, breweries, community centers, homeless shelters or wherever the need arises.
  • Grow retail outlets/sales of Bike Buckets
  • Look for funding to grow this program through sponsors/grants (You will have staff assistance on this task, if you would like it).

This is a fun program and we're looking for someone who will take it seriously but also have fun and attempt to grow it beyond what it is now. Possibly create stencils or art parties to decorate buckets. Basically, anything to get more people to realize that Bike Buckets are a great alternative to spending big bucks on bike panniers in addition to showing others that your bike can be used to run errands. Most importantly, we are looking for someone who is committed to growing the bicycle community in Indianapolis because at the end of the day, that's what IndyCog is attempting to do with this and all our programs.
