Some Marian news

by Christopher Newgent   |   1 COMMENT

Marian's dedication to cycling tends to be sadly overlooked here in Indy. I got this on my Reader the other day and was reminded to post it today by Joshua:

KNIGHTS WIN 12TH NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP

TREXLERTOWN, Pa. - The Marian University cycling team won its 12th national championship at the 2009 USA Cycling Collegiate National Track Cycling Championships in Trexlertown, Pa., on Saturday.

...

The Knights have now won 12 national championships in 15 years, four straight, and the 2009 crown is the first title as Marian University.
Full story here.

Joshua also alerted me to an article in Bicycling magazine:

Marian University cyclist and U.S. National Champion Adam Leibovitz is featured in this month's Bicycling Magazine. The in-depth story is about how Adam began using cycling rather than Ritalin to remedy his ADHD symptoms. Very interesting story about an up-and-coming local cyclist and another benefit of cycling. Unfortunately, I can't find the story online. You'll just have to get the magazine.
Much obliged for the heads up, Joshua. Everyone should go out and grab a copy. Shoot, even if you can't or don't want to afford it, you should at least drop by the magazine rack and check out this article and the always hilarious BSNYC column.
