INDYCOG in Metromix this week

Launched in February 2009, INDYCOG began as an online gathering place for like-minded cycling enthusiasts. It didn’t take long, though, for its founders — Christopher Newgent, Benjamin Hunt Kevin Whited and Jamison Hutchins — to realize INDYCOG had the opportunity to be much bigger. According to its website, INDYCOG’s mission is to offer “calls-to-action and resources for our readers to grow as cyclists and encourage the city of Indianapolis to include us cyclists in the city’s future growth.” INDYCOG recently received official nonprofit status and is awaiting federal approval for tax-exempt status. In the meantime, the organization has been raising awareness about the need for more bike lanes and racks Downtown, and is lending support to the Indy Connect public transfer initiative.Full Article
