Man attacked on Monon
by Christopher Newgent | 10 COMMENTS
Southside Johnny posted this in a comment thread, and it's been making its way around, but I just wanted to get it up on here for those not privy to message boards and such.
A 60-year-old man was assaulted yesterday on the Monon near Kessler Blvd yesterday afternoon. The attackers fled the scene and have yet to be apprehended. The most detail I've been able to find on any of the local media outlets is that it was 3 men. If any more info becomes available, I'll be sure to update here.
Update: WTHR lists the location as near Canterbury Park, just north of the 54th Street crossing, not at Kessler Blvd. They also write that anyone with any information regarding the incident should call Crime Stoppers at 262-TIPS.

The article Oran posted reports that there've been 4 attacks on the Monon reported to the police so far this year.
I'm glad to hear people on here saying it's not deterring them from riding/commuting on the Monon. The last thing that needs to happen is this reporting turning into fear-mongering.
I'm either out of the loop or this sort of thing happens all the time and doesn't get that much press. Either way, it doesn't change anything for me and my commute on the trail.
