The Tweed Ride is merely a week away and if you're like me you don't really have a lot of wool jackets and vests and knickers in your closet. So off you go! To the clothing stores! But not Penneys or Sears as they are so 21st century. You need a look back to the 50's or earlier.
Many of the dapper dressed lords and ladies have great success looking into vintage clothing shops which can be found in Broad Ripple and downtown. Second hand shops are also a good bet (my current fave is Little Super @ 52nd and College!) Even Goodwill and Salvation Army Thrift shops can be a ready source of tweed-ride garments.
Not sure what the "Tweed Ride" look looks like? Check out last year's ride photos or type Tweed Ride into Google Images .
Simply dressing "dapper" is the idea. "Vintage" is also wonderful. The most important thing to do is ride your bike. Any bike. Don't let the clothing hold you back!
