MAYOR BALLARD'S THIRD SPRING FEVER RIDE APRIL 12
ANNUAL SPRING BIKE RIDE WILL FEATURE WHITE RIVER TRAIL
INDIANAPOLIS - Mayor Ballard and the City's Office of Sustainability invite the public to register now for the Mayor's third annual Spring Fever bike ride presented by Reconnecting to our Waterways on April 12, 2014. The family-friendly, recreational ride will begin at the Major Taylor Velodrome, 3649 Cold Spring Road.
"The Spring Fever ride is a great opportunity to get families back on their bikes and enjoying the outdoors after a long winter," said Mayor Greg Ballard. "Indy's bike culture continues to grow and attract more people to our City, and the Spring Fever Ride is a chance to highlight what a great city Indy is to enjoy on a bike."
This year's Spring Fever Ride focuses on the White River Trail and will include activities and learning stations along the trail. Riders will learn about destinations along the route, the City's growing bikeways network and Reconnecting to our Waterways.
The Spring Fever Ride is one of three annual rides led by Mayor Ballard to encourage bicyclists of all ages to enjoy Indy's connected bikeways and bicycle-friendly infrastructure. In 2013, nearly 500 riders participated in the annual event.
Register now at www.indy.gov/springfever until April 11, 2014. Day-of-event registration begins at 3 p.m. and the ride starts at 4 p.m. The ride is free for all participants. Registration is required.
